San Francisco St Patricks Day Parade
Tuesday, March 7th, 2006The luck of the Irish will be extended, for one day, to all who attend one of the oldest and largest Saint Patrick’s Day parade in the country. On March 12, 2006, San Francisco will shut down portions of Market Street and welcome city officials, dancers, musicians and all who love a parade, in honor of the 154th annual Saint Patrick’s Day celebration, presented by the United Irish Societies.
The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of Second and Market. Community organizations will put their best foot forward, marching alongside City Officials, including Mayor Gavin Newsom, who will show their “green” side by joining the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration.
According to the parade’s organizers, the 2006 Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is going to be the largest ever, with more participants and new features.
